LANDS Superabrasives supplies a line of metal bond synthetic diamonds specially developed for extra tough applications. The 400-series, which consists of blocky crystals with smooth faces, is engineered to yield the best results under the most demanding operations.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

• LS400:
  blocky and mostly regular shape crystals of medium toughness recommended for use in low temperature softer metal bond systems. The rough surface of this diamond results in superior bond retention. This product gives very high performance in plated bond tools as well.
  

• LS430
  blocky and mostly cubo-octahedral crystals having well developed, smooth faces. Relatively high in toughness, this material is recommended for use in most sawing, drilling and finishing applications.
  

• LS460                                   
  almost entirely cubo-octahedral crystals with well developed faces and sharp edges. The very high relative toughness of this material makes it ideal for extremely hard working conditions in high temperature metal bonds.
  
  
• LS470
  dodectrahedral crystals, sharp faces and a high toughness index, gives this product its strength in high temperature bonds.
  

• LS480
  is an ultra-hard material manufactured for use in high temperature bonds. It is a top quality product recommended for high performance requirements in drill bits and tools for processing materials containing quartz. LS480-crystals contain less than 0,1% of metallic inclusions and show an excellent thermal stability when used between 1000-1150 °C.
  
  
• LS490
  Only the best, well shaped dodec-type crystal, without inclusions are present in this top of the line product. The toughest crystals with such an high thermal stability that this product can be used under the toughest, roughest operational conditions, like high performance drilling.

APPLICATIONS

The synthetic diamond types of the 400-series are recommended for metal bond tools used in the stone, construction, and engineering industries. The 400-series is ideally suited for sawing, drilling, grinding, polishing, truing and dressing.

For special applications, LANDS Superabrasives supplies a natural diamond grit, consisting of well shaped strong crystals, featuring an excellent bond retention. Type LSNPG is available in all US Mesh (and FEPA-) sizes from 16/18 down to 70/80 US Mesh.
Slightly processed natural crystals can be supplied upon request.

All products of the 400-series can be treated for use in electroplating. These treated products are then designated with the suffix "E", for example LS430E.

They also can be supplied coated with Titanium, Nickel, Cobalt, and with other metals upon request. The coating will be done according to the customer's specifications.
